Wayne Clifford Hebrink was born on January 11, 1929, to Elmer and Edna Hebrink in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. He was a lifelong member of the Raymond Methodist Church, where he was confirmed. He was baptized as an infant before undergoing surgery he was not expected to survive.

Wayne and Delores attended the same country school, located less than a mile from his family home.   He and his three siblings often walked, rode bikes, or traveled by sled to school in the winter. After completing 8th grade, Wayne later attended the St. Paul School of Agriculture, where he earned his high school diploma.

Wayne and Delores reconnected through local rural youth activities and were married on June 17, 1952, in Sacred Heart, Minnesota.  They raised their four children while farming in Holland Township. In 1984, they moved to the Peterson family farm—Delores’s childhood home—where they built a new house. In 2010, they relocated to Independence Place in Willmar.

Wayne was a man of deep and enduring faith, which he lived out daily. Mornings began with family breakfasts, followed by reading the Bible and The Upper Room devotional—practices he continued throughout his life. Sundays were for worship and quiet afternoons with family and friends. He shared his faith not only in words but through actions—always leading with kindness, grace, generosity, and a heart for service. Wayne volunteered wherever he could: helping young children learn to read, assisting neighbors, and serving on community, cooperative, and library boards, including the Pioneerland Library Board, inspired by his lifelong love of reading.

Farming was Wayne’s life passion. “Farming was the only thing I ever wanted to do,” he once wrote. He began by working alongside his father, and in 1954, he started his own farming operation when rental land became available. He later took over the family homestead, farming there until his retirement in 1992, though he remained active on the farm long after.

Wayne and Delores spent many winters as snowbirds in Texas. In Minnesota, Wayne enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling in the motorhome, bowling, square dancing, collecting and restoring toy tractors, and—most of all—spending time with his grandchildren, especially on camping and fishing trips.

Wayne is survived by his four children: LaDonna (Dewey Don Donato) Hebrink of Willmar, MN; Rodney (Carol) Hebrink of Fort Myers, FL; Randy (Cindy) Hebrink of New London, MN; and Coralee (Andrew) Solin of Andover, MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hebrink, Jason (Tanya) Hebrink, Andrea (Jared) Strand, Ben Hebrink, Kandice Solin, Emily Solin, and Jake Solin; seven great-grandchildren; his sister Diana (Hebrink) Hanson of Lacey, WA; and brother Dennis (Nancy) Hebrink of Wyoming, MN.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Delores (2025), his parents, his sister Viola Flann, and an infant brother.

Wayne’s legacy lives on in the faith, kindness, and resilience he instilled in his family and community. He will be deeply missed.
