Wayne Kleinhuizen, age 84, of Willmar, formerly of Roseland area, died Thursday morning, November 30, at his home surrounded by his family. will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 4, at the Willmar Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in the Roseland Reformed Cemetery in Roseland, Minnesota. Military Honors will be provide by the Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post 167 of Willmar. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, December 3, at the Willmar Assembly of God Church and one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg. www.tricountyfuneral.com Willis Wayne Kleinhuizen was born on August 1, 1933, on the family farm near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the son of Harold and Irene (Poelstra) Kleinhuizen. He grew up in that area, attended District 38 country school and completed his education at the Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg. Wayne was baptized at the Willmar Assembly of God Church, where he was very active and served as a deacon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956. On April 6, 1956, he was married to Marilyn Mae Zuidema and they traveled around Minnesota while Wayne worked for Berghuis Construction until 1961. They then made their home near Roseland, Minnesota and he had a dairy farm from 1961 to 1993. He continued with farming until he retired in 2010 and moved into Willmar. In 1971, Wayne gave his heart to the Lord at the Roseland Reformed Church. He served on numerous boards in his community, the Danube School Board, Roseland Township, Kandiyohi County, FHA, and Kandiyohi County Township Association. Wayne also served as a volunteer with MAPS and as the volunteer coordinator for the Assembly of God Epik Center. He had several hobbies and enjoyed woodworking, golf and kept a little hand in farming. He loved his wife of 61 years, loved spending time with or on the phone with his children and his grandchildren, his golf and coffee friends. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Willmar, four children, David (and Anita) Kleinhuizen of Forest Lake, Paul (and Pamela) Kleinhuizen of Blomkest, Barbara (and Mike) Hillenbrand of Willmar and Brenda (and James) Siekas of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 1 brother, Luverne (and Beatrice) Kleinhuizen of Willmar and three sisters; Dorothy Blokzyl of Willmar, Martha Dunsmore of Fosston and Eileen Fritz of Waconia. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Nicholas, Junior, Donald, Roger, Melvin, Harvey and Wally Kleinhuizen and two sisters, Loretta Mulder and infant Luella.
