Sylvia Hoffman June 3, 1931 - September 15, 2014 Sylvia Hoffman, age 83, of Roseland, died Monday morning, September 15, at Bethesda PleasantView Nursing Home in Willmar. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Roseland Reformed Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, at Roseland Reformed Church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Prinsburg (www.tricountyfuneral.com). Sylvia June Hoffman was born June 3, 1931, on the family farm in Crooks Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Mamie (Ammerman) Santjer. She grew up on the family farm and attended District 105 School. She then helped with childcare for many area families. On October 6, 1954, she married Roger Hoffman at Emden Christian Reformed Church in Renville and they made their home in Roseland. Sylvia was a member of Roseland Reformed Church and was active in women’s ministries and sang in the choir. She served as a volunteer with the Bloodmobile and as an election judge for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, gardening and canning. Sylvia was a gentle spirit. Her family, friends and her community will always remember her great laugh and her desire to help and serve in any way she could. She is survived by her husband, Roger of Roseland; two daughters, Sheila (and Bill) Krogman of St. Cloud and Eileen (and Paul) Dobmeier of Roseland; a daughter-in-law, Diane Hoffman of Spicer, MN; eight grandchildren, Joshua (and Tiffany) Krogman, Benjamin (and Erin) Hoffman, Erynn Dobmeier (and fiancé Wes Johnson), Sara (and Anders) Grafstrom, Ryan (and Mariah) Dobmeier, Anna (and Justin) Haats, Gabe Hoffman, and Paige (and Brian) Feldman; six great-grandchildren, Harper, Gustav, Sullivan, Grace, Evelyn, and Griffin; a brother, Vernon (and Joni) Santjer of Renville; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene Hoffman; and a son-in-law, Dan Marks.
