June 10, 1916 - May 19, 2015 , age 98 and 11 months, of Litchfield and formerly of Willmar and Prinsburg, died Tuesday afternoon, May 19, at Ecumen of Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 23, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be in Holland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, May 22, at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruby Gertrude Dragt was born on June 10, 1916, near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Ruth (Roelofs) Brink. She grew up in Prinsburg and received her education from the Christian School. She worked for her parents in the Prinsburg Café and later was a cook . On November 26, 1935, Ruby was united in marriage to John Henry Dragt, on the Garrit Roelofs farm near Prinsburg. Following their marriage they made their home in Prinsburg where she worked as a homemaker and as a cook for the Berghuis Construction crew. Following John’s death in 2000, Ruby moved to West View Village in Willmar. In 2006, she entered the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. She was a charter member of the Missions Club in Prinsburg and member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Her family and friends remember her caring and Christ like attitude. She always cared about her children and grandchildren more than herself. Ruby enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, especially homemade buns, cheese cake, caramel rolls and brownies. She is survived by two children, Perry (and Carol) Dragt and Sandi (and Mike) Hirman, both of Litchfield; one daughter-in-law, Diana Dragt of California; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; four sons, Ronald, Duane, Phillip and one in infancy, and one brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Ann Brink.
