died Monday afternoon, February 18, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, at Roseland Reformed Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post #167 of Willmar. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, February 21, at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg. Roger Wilbur Hoffman was born January 7, 1932, in Roseland, Minnesota, to Henry and Grace (Dykema) Hoffman. He lived his entire life in Roseland until January 2017 when he moved to Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar. Roger graduated from Willmar High School in 1950. He started road construction work with his father and then enlisted in the Army in 1952 and served in Korea, where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Service Star. He was discharged in August 1954. He was a member of the American Legion. Roger returned from the service and was united in marriage to Sylvia Santjer on October 6, 1954 at Emden Christian Reformed Church in Renville. They built a new home in Roseland and Roger continued self-employment in road construction. He eventually partnered with Duininck Construction working on roads and developments across the country. He loved sharing what he had helped build. Upon retirement Roger and Sylvia loved to pull their camper to Donna, Texas and spend the winter in warm weather. He was a lifelong member of Roseland Reformed Church. Roger is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Bill) Krogman and Eileen (Paul) Dobmeier; a daughter-in-law, Diane Hoffman; grandchildren, Joshua (Tiffany) Krogman, Benjamin (Erin) Hoffman, Erynn (Wes) Johnson, Sara (Anders) Grafstrom, Ryan (Mariah) Dobmeier, Anna (Justin) Haats, Gabe (Dana) Hoffman and Paige (Brian) Feldman; his great-grandchildren who would always bring a smile to his face– Grace, Evelyn, Lucas, Nora, Mylo, Harper, Gustav, Sullivan, Griffin, Archer, Jagger, Lennox, Breckett, Mason and Caden; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Joni Santjer. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia; his son, Eugene; and a son-in-law, Dan Marks.
