Orlyn L. Douma, age 86, of Blomkest, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 1, at his residence surrounded by family and hospice care.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, at Roseland Reformed Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg. www.tricountyfuneral.com
Orlyn was born on September 8, 1938, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of William and Ella (Kohls) Douma. He grew up on the family farm in Roseland Township. He received his education at the district # 91 school and Blomkest school and then attended the West Central Ag School in Morris. Orlyn was employed for over 47 years at Perkins Lumber Company in Willmar, retiring in 2010. He was a life member of the Roseland Reformed Church. Orlyn enjoyed farming, yardwork, collecting model tractors and spending time with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his sister, Arlis; one niece, JoAnn (and Peter) Shun; three grandnieces, Alyssa, Lauren and Isabelle; four grandnephews, Alex, Nikolas, Peter and Noah; two great grandnephews, Oliver and Leo; and a great grandniece on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
