Myrna Y. DeBoer, 87, of Prinsburg, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, surrounded by family at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, at the First Christian Reformed Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Myrna Yvonne DeBoer was born on May 4, 1937, in Prinsburg, Minnesota, to Leonard and Jenny Wieberdink. Myrna lived a life of faith, love, and resilience. She raised four sons while working tirelessly to provide for her family.
Myrna loved traveling. She visited all 50 states and over 20 countries. She enjoyed caring for pets, writing, doing puzzles, and watching game shows like The Price Is Right, specifically with Bob Barker. Myrna was a schoolteacher, military wife, poet, bus driver and had a career at Community Action Agency. She was proud of her career and her faith, reading the Bible daily and journaling faithfully.
Myrna is survived by her sons and their wives: Donald (and Idelia), Rollie (and Jodi), Mark (and Missy), and Tim (and Jonel); grandchildren, Justin, Jeremiah, Megan, Matthew, Leah, and Ava DeBoer; Blake, Tiffany and Ethan Klaphake; Matt (and Megan) Karlgaard, Mike (and Amanda) Flahave, Michael Wersal, Jordan Holinka, Stephanie Wersal, and Gheff and Paula Rodrigues; and great grandchildren, Hayden, Waylon, Addilynn, Riley, Marshall and Elijah. Also surviving is her sister, Vivian DeGroot; and a devoted family friend and former daughter-in-law, Heather DeBoer, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jenny; great granddaughter, Maysen Karlgaard; and siblings, Willis Wieberdink and Lenora June DeGroot.
