Marilyn Kreps Obituary

Marilyn C. Kreps, age 82, of Andover, formerly of Prinsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Farmstead Assisted Living in Andover. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, December 4, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. The interment was in the Holland Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg. Marilyn Carol Kreps was born on December 25, 1930 in Holland Township near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Anna (Hoogeveen) and Charles Ledeboer. She grew up in that area and received her education. On November 4, 1949, Marilyn was married to Junior F. Kreps in Prinsburg and they made their home in the Prinsburg area for many years. She also lived in Grapevine, TX, Zimmerman and Elk River, MN. Marilyn's life was dedicated to her faith, her family, and serving others. After raising her 5 children, Marilyn completed the LPN program at Willmar Community College. Marilyn volunteered for many organizations, including her churches, Central Minnesota Christian School, Cary Christian Center in Mississippi, Faith In Action of Sherburne County, and The Bible League. She and her husband Junior founded the Bibles For Missions Thrift Center in Crystal, MN in 1997. Marilyn loved travel and visited all 50 states, most of Canada, and 48 other countries. Marilyn is survived by her children: Nancy (and John McKean) Vander Plaats of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Bart (and Judith Kreps Hawkins) Hawkins Kreps of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, Ronn (and Sara) Kreps of Minneapolis, Kim (and Phil) Almeroth of Coon Rapids; grandchildren: Marisa (and James) Edwards, Lena Vander Plaats, Piers Kreps, Paige Kreps, Mary Kreps, Suzanne Kreps, Ryken Kreps, Aaron (and Laura) Almeroth, Evan Almeroth, Olya Almeroth; and great-grandchildren: Jaelynn, Ashlyn, and Declan Edwards, and Kendall, Payton, and Reese Almeroth. Also surviving are foster daughter MaryAnn (and Robert) Ledeboer of Grapevine, TX; siblings Gertude Meyer of Prinsburg, Thresa Berghuis of Prinsburg, Ann Thrall of Brooklyn Park, Elva Post of Willmar, Bud Ledeboer of Irving, TX, Clarence (and Janet) Ledeboer of Richfield, Lois Cook of Prinsburg, Norman (and Sharon) Ledeboer of Medicine Lake; and in-laws Eleanor Ledeboer of Prinsburg, Frieda Ledeboer of Prinsburg, John 'Jack' (and Caroline) Kreps of Willmar, Arvilla Berghuis of Hutchinson, Brenda (and George) Mullens of Philadelphia, PA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior F. Kreps; daughter, Mary Kreps; brothers Arthur, Donald, Harry (and Jeannette), and Delroy Ledeboer; in-laws Gerald (and Elinor) Kreps, Myrtilla (and Bud) Raske, Wilma (and Donald) Young, Donald Berghuis, Phyllis (and Kenneth) Monge.
