Margaret Bruggers May 28, 1920—June 9, 2015 Margaret L. Bruggers, age 95, of Willmar and formerly of Roseland, died Tuesday morning, June 9, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Roseland Reformed Church in Roseland. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg (www.tricountyfuneral.com). Margaret Louise Bruggers was born on May 28, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Kohrs) Damhof. She grew up in Roseland and received her education from District #34 school and graduated from Danube High School in 1939. On October 7, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Marvin Paul Bruggers. They lived and farmed together north of Roseland until 1993 when they moved into Willmar. In 2009, she moved to Bethesda Sunrise Village, then to Sterling House and later to Bethesda Pleasant View. Margaret was a lifelong member of the Roseland Reformed Church and was active as a Sunday School teacher and in the Women's Guild and Circle. She was active in Home Extension and was a 4-H Leader for over 30 years. She was an avid reader, historian and scrap booker. Margaret also enjoyed flowers, bird watching, crossword puzzles, fishing, and traveling. Music was a big part of her life, listening to her records, attending concerts, singing in various groups, and participating in sing-alongs at the nursing home. She loved to attend her kids and grandkids activities, sporting events, and special celebrations. She cherished time spent with family and friends. She is survived by her four children, Kathy (and Jack) Hoffman-Gabler of Richmond, Jim (and Lori) Bruggers of Darwin, Nancy Bruggers of Willmar and Sue (and Brian) Gustafson of Litchfield; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Ken (and Karen) Damhof of Willmar; one sister, Ruth Dragt of Willmar and one sister-in-law, Vera Pampuch of Mesa, AZ., besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin in 2005; one sister, Henrietta; one brother, Calvin; one son-in-law, Gary Gunvalson and one grandson, Tyler Gunvalson.
