Luella Swart

March 12, 1930  -  November 8, 2018   , age 88, of Prinsburg, died Thursday evening, November 8, at Cardinal Care Center in Prinsburg.    Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg.  Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery in Prinsburg.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 12, at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Memorials are preferred to Central Minnesota Christian School.  Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.   Luella Jane Swart was born March 12, 1930, to Albert and Clara (Zuidema) Ledeboer on the Ledeboer family farm near Prinsburg.  She grew up in the Prinsburg community and attended Central Minnesota Christian School.  She worked as a nanny for family in Prinsburg and also at Earl B. Olson Farms in Willmar.  On March 5, 1951, she married Melvin Swart in Prinsburg.  They lived on the Swart family farm near Prinsburg until 1960, when they moved into Prinsburg.  Luella then worked as a nursing assistant at the Clara City Care Center and later at the Cardinal Care Center in Prinsburg until her retirement.   Luella was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she was active with quilters, Ladies Aid, and Mission Club.  She also volunteered at the New 2 You Thrift Store and Rice Memorial Hospital.  She enjoyed walking, cooking, baking, gardening, and canning.  She also enjoyed sewing and each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren received a baby blanket that she made.   She is survived by her two children: Mitchell (and Melissa) Swart of Prinsburg and Kristin (and Michael) Brouwer of Willmar; six grandchildren: Amanda (and Kyle) Manson and their children: Karter and Kaycee; Allison (and Levi) Hood and their son, Tyler; Janey (and Nick) Landberg and their children, Henry, Sydney, and Heit; Anna (and Brian) Jones; Andrew (and Michelle) Brouwer and their daughter, Aela; and Jaclyn Swart.  Also surviving are a brother: Alvin (and Charlene) Ledeboer of Prinsburg; three sisters: Harriet (and Robert) Hasper of Grand Rapids, MI, Jean (and Joel) Peters of Mesa, AZ, and Connie (and Daryl) Berghuis of Alexandria; a brother-in-law: Luverne Kleinhuizen; two sisters-in-law: Katie Swart and Marian (and Darrell) Tinklenberg; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Melvin in 2003; a sister: Beatrice Kleinhuizen; and an infant sister at birth.
