Lucille Wubben Obituary

 

Lucille Ann Wubben, 81, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 15, 2024.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Lucille, lived her life with grace, compassion, and tireless dedication to those she loved.  She was a beacon of joy, with a fun-loving spirit, and a heart that radiated the love of Christ.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 20, at the Bunde Christian Reformed Church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, at the Bunde Christian Reformed Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home.  www.tricountyfuneral.com

 

Lucille was born on June 22, 1943, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Oral and Minnie (Santjer) Brouwer.  She grew up in the Clara City community, graduated from Clara City High School in 1961 and from the Meeker County Hospital LPN Nursing Program in 1962.   Lucille was united in marriage to Cordell Wubben on December 20, 1963, at Bunde Christian Reformed Church and they made their home on a farm near Raymond, MN.

 

Lucille was a loving farmer's wife, managing her home with strength and love. She later worked for 25 years at Rice Home Medical, where her kindness and gentleness impacted many lives. Lucille found great joy in cooking and gardening, and her delicious meals and beautiful gardens reflected her nurturing nature. Every day, she met life with determination, joy, and a deep sense of gratitude.  Her faith was a central part of her life. Lucille served with Gideon’s International Ministry and was an active member of Bunde Christian Reformed Church.

 

Lucille and Cordell, moved to Prinsburg in 2000, where they supported CMCS events and the Friesen Historical Society.  Lucille’s life was a testament to joy, compassion, and the power of faith. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her gentle spirit.  "Well done, good and faithful servant."

 

Lucille is survived by her cherished husband of 61 years, Cordell; her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.  Her children include:  Greg (and Jamie) Wubben of Cardwell, MT, with children: Garret and Sara Wubben, Hadley and Corwin, Regan and Cyris Robertson, and Kinsley; Kevin Wubben of Three Forks, MT, with children: Lauren and Rebecca Wubben; Doreen Wubben of Sioux Falls, SD, with children: Anndell Wubben, Stetson, and Bailey Breems-Ganenco and Alex Ganenco, Theodore; Ross (and Carrie) Wubben of Buffalo, MN, with children: Grayson, Sigourney, and Channing Wubben; and Joy (and Reed) Tietz of Plymouth, MN, with child: Jade Tietz; and siblings, Roger (and Ruth) Brouwer of Prinsburg and Sandy Thielke of Kerkhoven.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Minnie (Santjer) Brouwer and her dear parent in-laws, John and Wilhelmina (Meyer) Wubben; her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Clifford Horrman; brother-in-law, John Thielke.

 

Lucille’s legacy of warmth and devotion will be carried on by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. She was also deeply connected with the following in-laws:  the late Harriet (Wubben) and Gary Lierman of Spicer; Willis and Gret Wubben of Willmar; Emy Wubben and Hugh McConnell of St. Paul; Curtis Wubben of Roseland; Janel (Wubben) and the late Curt Watson of Prinsburg; the late Rachel (Wubben) and Ken Moll of Anchorage, AK; Faith (Wubben) and Mike Apol of Wayland, MI; Wanda (Wubben) and Paul Knapper of Renville; and Terry and Lori Wubben of Churchill, MT.

 

Lucille’s large family and loving circle of friends will miss her dearly but will continue to honor her memory through the warmth, love, and devotion she shared.

 

We offer our heartfelt thanks to all who have supported and prayed for us during Lucille's final days. Your presence, compassion, and kindness have been a great comfort, and we are deeply grateful for the love and peace you have shared with us as we entrusted our beloved Lucille into God's care. Your support has been a blessing, and we find solace in the faith that she is now at rest in His eternal embrace.
