Goldie Lorraine (Duininck) Negen, age 96 of Willmar passed away at Bethesda Grand nursing home on Monday, August 22. Funeral Services will be held at Carrie's Chapel in Bethesda Grand on Saturday, August 27, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the services. Goldie was born on a farm near Clara City, Minnesota, on December 20, 1925, the daughter of John and Alma (VanBuren) Duininck. She attended a rural country grade school. Goldie married Henry G. Negen on July 27, 1944, in Elk City, Oklahoma, while he was in the Navy. Upon his discharge, they made their home on a farm near Renville. After Henry’s death, Goldie moved to Willmar in 1995.
She loved the Lord and loved telling others about him. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and cherished the times with her family. Goldie also enjoyed making muffins and cinnamon rolls and sharing them with many friends and neighbors. She also spent many years fostering teens and adults and had a genuine love for them.
Goldie is survived by her children, Allen (Connie) Negen, Gerri (Chuck) Ledeboer, Cher (Cal) Brouwer, Leon (Melanie) Negen, Fern (Kim) Gerdes and Clark Negen; nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving are her sister’s-in-law, Arlene Duininck and Sadie Negen and a longtime friendship with Deb (Mike) Lessard.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 1994; her parents, John and Alma Duininck; son, Clayton Negen and brother, Bud Duininck.
