Gerradina H. Stryker, age 98, of Willmar and formerly of Prinsburg, died Monday morning, Jan. 27, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central Minnesota Christian School or Rice Hospice are preferred. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.
Gerradina Henrietta (Marcus) Stryker was born on January 5, 1922, on the family farm near Prinsburg, the daughter of Frank and Mattie (Ledeboer) Marcus. She grew up in the Prinsburg community and received her education at the Prinsburg Christian School. On January 14, 1943, Gerradina was united in marriage to Fred H. Stryker. They made their home in Prinsburg and were blessed with four children, Glen, Vernon, Gerrit and Dave. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was active with the quilting group.
She is survived by her three sons, Glen (and Betty) Stryker of Colorado Springs, CO., Vernon (and Char) Stryker of Prinsburg and Dave (and Roxie) Stryker of Belton, TX.; eight grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Melvin Marcus of Prinsburg and Albert Marcus of Redwood Falls; one sister, Henrietta Swart of Prinsburg and a sister-in-law, Serena Marcus of Willmar, besides other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred in 1982; one son, Gerrit in 1967; an infant grandson, Steven Stryker; three brothers, Alfred, Herman and Dick Marcus; and five sisters, Alice LeCoq, Hermina Henderson, Sarah Stob, Florence Tebben and Grace Sportel.
