Gerardine M. “Liz” Mulder Sept. 23, 1924 - Feb. 29, 2016 Gerardine M. “Liz” Mulder, age 91, of Willmar and formerly of Prinsburg, died Monday morning, February 29, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at the First Christian Reformed Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service. Memorials to the Central Minnesota Christian School are preferred. Gerardine Marie Elizabeth “Liz” Mulder was born on September 23, 1924, in Oost, Holland, the daughter of Pierre and Marie (Jansen) Paquay. She grew up and received her education in The Netherlands. She met Edward Mulder while he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. They were married on October 18, 1945, in Eysden, Holland. Edward was discharged from the service in March of 1946 and returned to the United States. Liz followed in April of the same year and they made their home in Prinsburg. She worked hard as a homemaker and mother to their three sons, Phillip, Mike, and Steven. Liz was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was active in the women's mission club and circle. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sharing her Dutch heritage and traveling with her family, most of whom she was able to take back to Holland at different times in her life. She is survived by her three sons, Phillip (and Sheryl) Mulder, Mike (and Bev) Mulder and Steve (and Jody) Mulder, all of Prinsburg; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 2010; one daughter-in-law, Laura Mulder in 2007; one brother, Gilliam; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Juliette.
