, age 87, of Willmar and formerly of rural Kerkhoven, died Sunday morning, Mar. 17, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, at Bunde Christian Reformed Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Bunde Christian Reformed Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service. Esther Lorraine Hillers was born on February 3, 1932, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Kohrs) Brouwer. She grew up and attended country school in the Roseland community and graduated from Willmar High School in 1950. On February 22, 1956, Esther was united in marriage to Gordon Henry Hillers. They lived and farmed near Kerkhoven for many years. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Esther worked at Fabric Textile Warehouse. In 2012, Esther moved into Willmar and resided at West View Village. She was a member of Bunde Christian Reformed Church and was active in Ladies’ Aid, bible study and the Crossroads Ministry. She was also a member of the Willmar Senior Citizens. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, ceramics, cooking, gardening and camping. She is survived by her four children, Susan (and Tim) Bohlsen of Clara City, David (and Justine) Hillers of Raymond, Douglas (and Tammy) Hillers of Kerkhoven and Linda Rolfes (and special friend, Dan Goldschmidt) of Lake Lillian; nine grandchildren, Michelle (and Jamie) Boelter, Jason (and Ashley) Bohlsen, Danielle (and Kevin) Fuchs, Nicole, Katelyn and Logan Hillers, Nathanial, Cameron and Blake Rolfes; eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Gladys VanDenEinde of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon in 2008; two sisters, Eleanor and Louise; and two brother-in-laws.
