May 15, 1926 - January 28, 2019 , age 92, of Prinsburg, died Monday morning, January 28, at Bethesda Grand Senior Living in Willmar. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, at Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg, www.tricountyfuneral.com. Elva Mae Post was born May 15, 1926, in Prinsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Hoogeveen) Ledeboer. She grew up in the Prinsburg community and attended country school. On May 3, 1944, she married Richard Post and they made their home on a farm near Prinsburg. In addition to their three children, Richard and Elva were also foster parents to twelve children. They farmed until 1978, when they retired and moved to their home east of Prinsburg. Richard died in 2005 and Elva resided the past few years at Bethesda in Willmar. Elva was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and later Unity Christian Reformed Church. At church, she was active with Ladies Aid, Mission Club, Calvinettes, went on mission trips to Mississippi, biking and canoeing with church friends. She was also a member of Mother's Club of CMCS, Hope Pregnancy counselor, Christian Women’s Club, and Prison ministries Bible studies. Elva loved to sew, she shared her amazing talents by teaching summer sewing and knitting classes at CMCS. She loved going to basketball/volleyball games, first watching her children then cheering on her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, canning, growing flowers, traveling, snowmobiling, camping all around the country especially at Hart Ranch. Most importantly Elva loved spending time with her family, sharing her quiet faith and giving spirit by example. Elva is survived by her three children: Merle (and Patricia) Post of Willmar, Randy (and Dawne) Post of Prinsburg, and Debbie (and Jim) Hillenbrand of Kandiyohi; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bud Ledeboer of Irving, TX; Norman (and Sharon) Ledeboer of Plymouth, and Clarence (and Janet) Ledeboer of Richfield; a sister: Lois Cook of Prinsburg, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Richard in 2005; three brothers: Harry, Donald, and Delroy; and four sisters: Gertrude, Thresa, Marilyn, and Ann.
