Eleanor Zondervan

Eleanor Zondervan November 3, 1924 - December 29, 2015            Eleanor Zondervan, age 91, of rural Prinsburg, died Tuesday evening , December 29, at the St. Cloud Hospital.              Funeral services will be private.  There will be a public visitation on Tuesday January 5, from 4-7 PM at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.  Interment will be in the Holland Township Cemetery in rural Prinsburg.   Eleanor Gertrude Zondervan was born on November 3, 1924 in Holland Township near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Garret and Mable Grace (Wieberdink) Bonnema.  She grew up in that area and received her education in the Prinsburg schools.  On October 20, 1943, she was married to Cornelius “Cornie” Zondervan in Prinsburg and they made their home on a farm east of Prinsburg.  She was a lifelong active member of First Christian Reformed Church.  She enjoyed farming, gardening, baking, cooking and traveling.  Eleanor loved being with her family and friends.    She is survived by two sons: Clayton “Shorty” Zondervan (and special friend Maureen Hjelle) of New London and Jeff  (and Julie) Zondervan of New London; and one daughter, Maxine (and Tony) Van Eps of Willmar.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Harriet Zondervan of Willmar and Norma Vis of Minneapolis.   Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cornie in 2014, infant daughter Glennys and one brother, Milton Bonnema.
