Elaine J. Marcus Aug. 23, 1928 - Aug. 31, 2014 Elaine J. Marcus, age 86, of Willmar and formerly of Raymond, died Sunday morning, August 31, at Rice Therapy Suites in Willmar. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, at the Roseland Reformed Church in Roseland. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, at the Roseland Reformed Church and also one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home of Prinsburg (www.tricountyfuneral.com). Elaine Joyce Marcus was born August 23, 1928, in Roseland Township to George and Laura (VanDenEinde) Dykema. She grew up on a farm in the Svea area and attended District 55 Svea Country School. On December 21, 1948, she married William Marcus at the Roseland Reformed Church, where she was a lifelong member. They established a farmstead north of Roseland in Whitefield Township, where they farmed until the mid 1990’s. After the death of her husband in 2010, she moved to Westview Village in Willmar. She was an excellent cook and gardener and always enjoyed preparing food for her family. She also served as the head cook at Sunnyside Country School. Elaine had an abiding faith in God, loving and serving all those around her. Her lifetime passion was being a homemaker and helper on the family farm. She loved spending time and doing things for her family. Elaine is survived by three children, Diane (and Kendall) Bruse of Willmar, MN David Lee (and Jacklyn) Marcus of Orange City, Fl, and Debra (and Milton) Wubben of Clara City, MN; six grandchildren: Cheryl (and Aaric) Geihl, Joshua (and Valerie) Marcus, Brandon Marcus, Holli (and Brian) Jans, Travis (and Bailey) Wubben and Ryan Wubben; five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Samuel and Stella Geihl; Zachary Marcus, Averi Wubben and two additional grandchildren to be born later this year; one sister, Dolores “Dee” (and Elwood) Lofthus of Bloomington, MN and three brothers, Norman (and Ellen) Dykema of Florida, LaVern (and Diane) Dykema of Florida and Maurice “Pete” (and Dorothy) Dykema of Walker, MN and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William and her parents.
