She grew up on a farm in rural Clara City and attended Central Minnesota Christian School. She married Duane Mulder on July 15, 1966, in Bunde Christian Reformed Church and moved to Rapid City, S.D., where Duane was in the Air Force. Diane and Duane moved back to Minnesota in 1970, living in three different country homes in rural Clara City and Renville, where they farmed and raised their family. Diane had an abiding faith in God and loved and served her Lord by loving and serving those around her. She was a devoted wife and mother and gifted homemaker, blessing her family and friends with homemade food and handcrafted quilts and braided wool rugs. Throughout her struggle with cancer the past two years, Diane's sweet and contented spirit inspired many, and she talked often of God's great goodness and his sufficient and sustaining grace. Her family will remember these years as ones during which she said again and again, "I am so grateful." Diane went to be with her beloved Jesus on February 15, 2014, at the age of 67, leaving peacefully from her earthly home for her heavenly one. Survivors who will cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Duane; her children, Tamara (Keith) Fynaardt, Dana (Troy) Broers, Josh (Susanne) Mulder, and Luke (Trisha) Mulder; her grandchildren Kitrick and Gideon Fynaardt; Emily, Benjamin and Katie Broers; Edward, Case, Garrett and Josie Mulder; and Abby, Molly and Carrie Mulder; siblings Char Groen, Norma (Harold) Groen, Merlyn (Delores) Meyer, Cheryl (Cal) Brouwer, Lonnie (Wayne) Hillenbrand and Lee Meyer; brothers-in-law Phil (Sheryl) Mulder, Dennis (Sharon) Mulder and Calvin (Margo) Mulder; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Charles and sisters Laura Mulder and Candace Meyer; her parents-in-law, Lambert and Ruby Mulder; and brothers-in-law Clayton Negen and Alvin Groen. Memorials will be given to Central Minnesota Christian School to honor Diane's gratitude for the value of Christian education in her life and the lives of her children and grandchildren.
