Debra Kay Brouwer, age 57, of Willmar, passed away on Tuesday morning, Dec. 22, at her residence in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, at Bunde Christian Reformed Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The COVID-19 safety precautions will be enforced. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Friendship Ministries, Rice Hospice or West Central Industries are preferred. Debra Kay Brouwer was born on October 30, 1963, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Julius and Rosella (Bonnema) Brouwer. She grew up in the Raymond community, attended Hope Haven school and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1985. In 1986, Debra moved to Willmar to live in the Chrysalis group home. She worked at West Central Industries from 1986 until November of 2020. She was a member of the Bunde Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed attending Friendship Ministries, Special Olympics, Green Lake Bible Camp, fishing, swimming and going on trips. She also enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Julius and Rosie Brouwer of Raymond and three siblings, Terry (and Joyce) Brouwer of Willmar, David (and Jill) Brouwer of Prinsburg and Lori (and Ron) Sterk of Grand Rapids, MI. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Zach and Jenny Brouwer of Raymond, Ryan and Mariah Dobmeier of Eagle Lake, Alex and Stephanie Sterk of Jenison, MI., Conner and Lorisa Reidy of Rockford, MI, Trevor and Megan Sterk of Grand Rapids, MI, Brady and Kendra Van’t Hull of Prinsburg; great nephews and great niece, Breckett, Caden and Mason Dobmeier, Rylie and Logan Brouwer and Callan Sterk.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Egbert and Trena Brouwer and Barney and Minnie Bonnema.
