David Plowman Obituary

David Plowman, age 39, of Willmar, died Monday evening, May 7, at his home in Willmar surrounded by his parents and siblings after a short, intense battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery in Prinsburg.  David Jeffrey Plowman was born February 19, 1979 in Willmar, Minnesota to Jeffrey and Jewell (Jamison) Plowman. His earliest years were spent on a farm southwest of Prinsburg and then in Prinsburg where he attended Central Minnesota Christian School, kindergarten through 12th grade. He attended McLennan College in Waco, Texas and spent his working years at the family business, Varicore Technologies. He did computer programming there as well as various other tasks. David was an amazingly gifted drummer, playing in his younger years for numerous praise and worship events including a stint with Beowulf at the Sunshine Music Festival and with Endorphin at Youth Unlimited Convention in Colorado Springs. He traveled to India drumming for Carpenter’s Tools before heading to Texas for college. He also served as drummer at Night Vision at Unity Church for several years. David struggled with a mental illness for much of his adult life but this never diminished his desire to serve the Lord. Even in his darkest times he strove to witness for Jesus—that was always his heart’s desire. David enjoyed reading, fishing, music, and spending time with his dearly loved nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, his honesty, his clever wit and his sweet personality. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Jewell Plowman, and three siblings: Angela (and Charles) Miedema, Arnold (and Danielle) Plowman, and Francesca (and Jason) Beukelman as well as nephews and nieces: Gabriel, Chloe and Benjamin Miedema; Hannah (and Neil) Brouwer, Natan and Elle Plowman; Liam, Kiera, Mia, and Jocelyn Beukelman. Also mourn-ing his passing are many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Donna Plowman and William and LaVon Jamison.
