Cornelius 'Cornie' Zondervan, age 92, of Prinsburg, died Wednesday morning, April 16, at the Golden Living Center in Olivia. A private family service will be held. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery in Prinsburg. Public visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg (www.tricountyfuneral.com). Cornelius Zondervan was born December 20, 1921, in Ogilvie, Minnesota, the son of Andrew and Julia (Stob) Zondervan. He grew up near Ogilvie and later moved with his family to the Roseland area, where he attended Roseland Country School. On October 20, 1943, he married Eleanor Bonnema and they lived and farmed east of Prinsburg. Cornie retired from farming in 1986. He was a member of the Holland Township Board for many years. He was a member of Roseland Reformed Church prior to his marriage and then became a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg since 1943. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and keeping busy in the yard and garden. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Prinsburg; his children, Clayton 'Shorty' Zondervan (and special friend, Maureen Hjelle) of New London, Jeff (and Julie) Zondervan of New London, and Maxine (and Tony) Van Eps of Willmar; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Glennys Zondervan; and three brothers, John Zondervan, Anthony Zondervan, and Stanley Zondervan.
