Clarence A. Hubers

Clarence A. 'Chuck' Hubers, age 85, of Willmar, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 29th at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 3, at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Interment will be at the Roseland Reformed Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Willmar American Legion Post #167. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg (www.tricountyfuneral.com) and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to the Central Minnesota Christian School or the Raymond Christian Reformed Church are preferred. Clarence Arnold Hubers was born on April 21, 1928, in Roseland, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Annie (Plowman) Wieberdink. His father died before his birth and he was later adopted by his mother's second husband, Albert J. Hubers. He grew up and received his education in the Roseland community. On October 26, 1950, Chuck was united in marriage to Jeanette Negen and they made their home in Roseland. From 1952-1954, Chuck served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge, they moved to Hector where he owned and operated the Dairy Freeze for many years. They later moved to Willmar and then Raymond, where Chuck owned and operated Hubers Body Shop. Jeanette died in 1998. On July 10, 1999, Chuck was married to Selma (Marcus) Zondervan. They lived in Raymond and later moved to Willmar. He was a member of the Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Chuck's hobbies included fishing, camping, woodworking and playing card games. He cherished the time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Selma of Willmar; two sons, David Hubers of Isanti and Dwight (and Brenda) Hubers of Willmar; a daughter, Barb (and Randy) Bonnema of Raymond; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his stepchildren: Ron Zondervan of Willmar, Louann (and Dave) Frietag of Breckenridge, Steven (and Nancy) Zondervan of Monticello, Craig (and Susan) Zondervan of Waite Park, and Mark (and Stacey) Zondervan of Willmar; nine step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Ken (and Chris) Rindels of Arizona; two stepsisters, Ruth (and Ken) Rottier of Michigan and Marlene (and John) Visser of Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law: Alma (and Alvin) Blom of Willmar, and Caroline (and Paul) Viss of Willmar; besides other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jeanette; a son, Daniel in 1973; a stepson, Alryn Zondervan; and a stepbrother, Al Rindels.
