Beverly Uken

Beverly Uken, age 73, of Willmar, died Friday morning, December 20, at Copperleaf Senior Living Community in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery near Prinsburg.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service.  Memorials are preferred to the CMCS Music Department, First Christian Reformed Church or Resonate Global Missions (Rev. Beverly Rose Uken was born March 31, 1946, in Luverne, Minnesota, the daughter of Rolland and Anna (Koedam) Bolt.  She grew up in Edgerton, Minnesota, and graduated from Southwest Minnesota Christian School in 1964.  She then attended Calvin College.  On September 2, 1966, she married Harvey Uken at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton.  They were blessed with three children: Gregory, Brenda and Deanna. They lived in Iowa until 1977 and then relocated to the Willmar, Minnesota community.  Beverly was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and served as an organist.  She enjoyed music; played both organ and piano, as well as, directed the church choir.  Beverly was employed as a banquet server at the Willmar Conference Center for many years and later worked as a merchandiser for Anderson Company. Beverly enjoyed the outdoors by caring for her flowers and garden.  She appreciated time at home with family and always shared her gift of hospitality with others. Beverly also loved her cats and traveling, especially visiting Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Beverly is survived by her husband: Harvey Uken of Willmar, MN; three children: Gregory (and Tonya) Uken of Spicer, MN, Brenda Dobay of Woodbury, MN, and Deanna (and Joshua) Wood of Willmar; five grandchildren: Jenna (and Jake) Rooda, Jacob Uken, Jayden Dobay, Annaliese Wood, and Rosalyn Wood; a brother: Randy (and Tammy) Bolt of Edgerton, MN; two sisters: Marjorie Bolt of Concord, CA and Lori (and Rob) Van Duyn of Ripon, CA; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother: Leslie Bolt
