Beatrice “Bea” Kleinhuizen, age 87, of Willmar, died Saturday morning, May 26, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the Rock of Life Christian Reformed Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery near Prinsburg. Visitation will be 11:30-1 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Rock of Life Christian Reformed Church, Central Minnesota Christian School, or Rice Hospice. Beatrice Elaine Kleinhuizen was born March 22, 1931 on a farm near Prinsburg, Minnesota, to Albert H. and Clara (Zuidema) Ledeboer. She was baptized and professed her faith at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. She received her education at Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg and at Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa, graduating in 1949. Bea then attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She taught school in Baldwin, Wisconsin and at CMCS. On July 16, 1954, she was married to Luverne Kleinhuizen. Five children were born to this union. They lived in the Renville and Prinsburg area before moving to Willmar in 1966. Bea worked as a special education paraprofessional in Willmar Schools for 23 years. She was always an active member at the Christian Reformed Church. She also volunteered with Rice Hospice, Friendship Bible Study, and at the New 2 You Thrift Store. Her special interests were spending time and camping with her family, along with reading, sewing, and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Luverne; four children: Debra Kleinhuizen of Willmar, Bruce Kleinhuizen of Kerkhoven, Julie (and Tim) Johnson of Kerkhoven, and Carol Wells of St. Cloud; five grandchildren: Sharon (and Jeffrey) Dingman, Susan Nelson (and special friend, Michael), Aaron (and Nicki) Wells, Amber (and Drew) Nielsen, and Adrien Wells (and special friend, Katie); and seven great-grandchildren: Cyril Rogers, Isabelle Rogers, Aiden Rogers, Mason Calhoun, Lindsey Calhoun, Nora Wells, and Amelia Wells. Also surviving are a brother: Alvin (and Char) Ledeboer; four sisters: Luella Swart, Harriet (and Robert) Hasper, Jean (and Joel) Peters, and Connie (and Daryl) Berghuis; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter: Diane Kleinhuizen.
