Ann Sattman Obituary

Ann Sattman March 6, 1916 -  May 6, 2016              Ann Sattman, age 100, of Raymond, died Friday morning, May 6, at the Clara City Care Center.              Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond with Rev. Joyce Graue officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.   Ann Sattman was born on March 6, 1916, in Arthur, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Tollie (Freese) Peters.  She was baptized at Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Brede, Iowa and attended grade school in Lake View, Iowa.  Ann held various house-keeping and baby-sitting jobs until she met the love of her life in Lake View.  Ann married Lawrence Sattman, from New Boston, Missouri, a hired farmhand who worked near Lake View, at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church on February 15, 1934.  After their marriage, they took up residence in Lake View and began farming on their own in the late 30’s and early 40’s.  Their last Iowa residence was on a farm near Kiron.  While living near Kiron, a son, David, entered their lives.  In 1956, they moved to a farm south-east of Raymond, Minnesota where they lived until retirement in 1973.  They built a new house in Raymond later that same year.  Ann and Lawrence joined St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond upon moving to Minnesota where Ann was active in Ladies Aid and Home Makers Clubs.  Together they enjoyed fishing, playing cards, visiting friends and relatives in Iowa and Missouri.  They enjoyed seventy-one years of married life together.    She is survived by her son, David Sattman of Raymond; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence in 2005; two brothers, Martin and Harvey and their wives; and one nephew, LeRoy.
