Ronald D. Lundquist, age 83, of rural Blomkest, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 29, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, at the Roseland Reformed Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, at the Roseland Reformed Church and will also continue for one hour prior to the service. Ronald Duaine Lundquist was born on August 30, 1940, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Audrey (Garner) Lundquist. He grew up in the Danube community and graduated from Danube High School in 1958. Following high school, Ronald returned to work on the family farm. From 1961 to 1967, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On August 8, 1969, Ronald was united in marriage to Betty Lou Day. They made their home on a farm SE of Roseland. Ronald was engaged in farming for over 60 years. He was an active member of Roseland Reformed Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He also served on the Roseland Township Board for many years. He enjoyed word puzzles, fishing, reading the newspaper and bible devotions, and being a grandpa.
He is survived by his two children, Stacy (and David) Whitaker of Sebeka and Chad (and Sara) Lundquist of Morris; two grandchildren, Greta (and Zach) James and Henry Lundquist; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Eugene (and Elise) Lundquist of Olivia and Wallace Lundquist (and special friend, Gerry Breiland) of Willmar, besides other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
