Phyllis Gertrude (Plowman) Ledeboer was born on June 27, 1931, to Henry and Wilhelmina (Mastbergen) Plowman.  She attended Brooten Country School. She later moved to Kandiyohi County.  As the oldest of six children, Phyllis learned a good work ethic at an early age.  Feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, and filling the wood box were some of her daily duties on the farm.

Phyllis met Albert G. Ledeboer at a Youth Group Meeting in the Roseland Reformed Church.  They were married on May 18, 1951, in Roseland and they made their home in the Prinsburg area.  Phyllis worked at Willmar Poultry Company, Clara City Nursing Home, and Central Minnesota Christian School.  She was an active member of First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg, where she took part in Mission Club, Bible Study, and Quilting.  When her children were younger, she taught Sunday School and worked in the church library.  She was also active in Mother’s Club for Central Minnesota Christian School.  She volunteered many hours at the New to You Thrift Store.  Phyllis was an accomplished yarn crafter. Many babies were the recipients of her knitted and crocheted handcrafts. She shared her knitting skills with students at Central Minnesota Christian School and the GEMS Program at First Christian Reformed Church.  She loved needlework and for many years she made hand embroidered dish towels for the Central Minnesota Christian School auctions.  She found great enjoyment volunteering her time with Friendship Ministries.

Albert and Phyllis loved to travel and camp.  Summer camping excursions to Sibley State Park were a yearly occurrence, first with their children and later their grandchildren.  They enjoyed bus tours and delighted in the beauty of God’s creation, especially, the fall colors.

She is survived by her sons: DuWayne Ledeboer, Raymond, Delton (Brenda) Ledeboer, Fountain, Colorado.  Her daughter-in-law, Julie Ledeboer, Prinsburg, five grandchildren: Jeremy, Zachary, Sierra, Bethany, and Jena and 11 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters: Joyce Randt and Lois (Dale) Peterson, one brother, Larry (Leanne) Plowman, sister-in-law, Diane Plowman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Ledeboer; son, Douglas Ledeboer, her parents, her brothers, Wilfred Plowman and Robert Plowman, sister-in-law, Pat Plowman, and two stillborn great-grandchildren.
